Book Series
The City|Speculations book series documents work produced in the two-year framework of the Master of Architecture programme at the University of Edinburgh between 2006 and 2015, which ran in parallel with two associated MSc programmes (MSc Advanced Architectural Design between 2007 and 2010, and MSc Architectural Urban Design between 2010 and 2015). The work in this book series showcases an architectural pedagogy and shared concern for the city, and selected exceptional design and research work undertaken in the various studios underpinning the MArch and MSc programmes. It documents explorations for the cities of Cádiz, Warsaw, Florence, Marseille, Olbia, and Mumbai.

They contain a number of images, links to archived press clippings and links to underpinning published research. The ECA portfolios span three UoAs (C13: Architecture, Built Environment and Planning; D32: Art and Design – History, Practice and Theory, and D33: Music, Drama, Dance. Performing Arts, Film and Screen Studies) and demonstrate the range and depth of the School’s research expertise carried from 2014 to 2021.

“We Have Great Stuff” Colouring Books
The University of Edinburgh as well as having great students and staff, has great stuff. Since its very beginnings, the University has collected books, art, archives, manuscripts, musical instruments and objects to inspire its community in learning, teaching and research. The illustrations in these books are inspired by items and images within the collections and were collated by students during the 2019 Festival of Creative Learning Week, a 2021 Student Experience Grant project, and by staff in the Information Services Group.
